The engine has three kinds of air, oil and fuel filters, commonly referred to as "three filters." They are responsible for filtering the media in the intake system, lubrication system, and combustion system of the engine. The air cleaner is located in the engine air intake system. Centrifugal oil filter has a rotor sleeved on a shaft, and there are two nozzles with opposite injection directions. When the oil enters the rotor and comes out of the nozzle, the rotor rotates quickly to make the oil in the rotor body clean. The impurities in the oil are centrifugally thrown onto the inner wall of the rotor, and the oil from the nozzle flows back to the oil pan. Centrifugal oil filter is characterized by stable performance, reliable structure, there is no need to replace the filter element, as long as the rotor is disassembled regularly, cleaning the dirt deposited on the rotor wall can be reused. Its life can be equal to the engine. Its deficiency lies in its complex structure, high price, heavy weight, and high technical requirements for users.

Full-flow oil filters, such as replaceable, spin-on, split-flow centrifugal, etc., filter all oil entering the system. The split filter filters only 5% to 10% of the oil supplied by the oil pump. Split oil filters are fine filters, which are generally used in conjunction with full flow. Most of the low-power engines only use full-flow filters, while the more powerful diesel engines use full-flow plus shunt filters. Fuel filters include Diesel Filters, fuel filters, and natural gas filters. Its role is to filter out harmful particles and moisture in the engine's fuel oil system to protect the oil pump nozzle, cylinder liner, piston ring, etc., to reduce wear and avoid clogging.

The structure of the diesel Fuel Filter is roughly the same as that of the oil filter. There are two kinds of interchangeable and spin-fit filters. However, its working pressure and oil temperature requirements are much lower than those of oil filters, but its filter efficiency requirements are much higher than those of oil filters. Diesel filter filters are mostly made of filter paper, but also use felt or polymer materials. In addition to filtering mechanical impurities in diesel fuel, diesel filters have an important function of filtering water. The existence of water is extremely harmful to the diesel engine oil supply system. Corrosion, wear, and seizure may even worsen the combustion process of diesel fuel. The water removal method of diesel filtration system is mainly precipitation. Either set a precipitation chamber in the lower part of the filter or use a special setter. No matter whether it is the sedimentation chamber in the lower part of the filter or a special setter, it is equipped with a drain valve. When the water accumulates to a certain amount, the valve is opened to discharge water.

Gasoline filters are divided into carburetor type and electric spray type. Gasoline engines with carburetor are used. The fuel filter is located on the side of the inlet side of the oil pump. The fuel filter is located on the side of the outlet of the fuel pump and has a high working pressure. Metal casing is usually used. Due to the mixed quality of filter companies, the auto parts market is turbulent and even counterfeit filters flood the market.
